DJ Flurane is a talented Club DJ, music producer, and former music journalist hailing from South Central Virginia and currently residing in Jacksonville, Florida. With a passion for house, techno and electronic dance music, he has quickly built a reputation for himself both online and in-person. As a former music journalist he has interviewed some of the most influential names in music, hip-hop, and EDM, including Sir Mix-a-lot, Run DMC, Spacegirl, Cirrus, DJ Qbert, Snoop Dogg, Dj Deville, and many more.

As a DJ and producer, DJ Flurane’s mixes are fun, uptempo, and always full of surprises. His ability to blend different genres and create an energetic and eclectic sound that connects with listeners’ emotions is what sets him apart from the rest. His sets are full of energy, and he has an innate ability to read the crowd and keep them on their feet all night long.

Today, DJ Flurane is first and foremost a father, a military veteran, and a physician. He’s been involved in the techno and electronic dance music scene since the late 90’s. Starting first as an avid follower, he quickly grew into a promoter, and later a freelance journalist following festivals, events, and stars up and down the eastern seaboard; together with several close friends he started a website and “E-zine” in the early 2000’s and during that time, he had the opportunity to interview some of the biggest names in music, hip-hop and EDM and gained valuable insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes.

He began dabbling in mixing/Dj’ing at that time as well, getting started on a used pair of Technic 2000’s before hanging up his hat and deciding to focus on his studies and training for medical school. His love and passion for Techno/EDM and all things musical has never waned however. As a child of the 80’s his taste in music is broad, ranging from 70’s/80’s pop, to Alternative, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Latino, Asian, Drum n’ Bass, Jazz, Trance, and even some Country! As a military veteran he has been fortunate to travel the globe and live in numerous countries throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Experiencing different cultures and the music that is a part of that culture has also helped shape his unique style and desire to share that broader view with others. 

His mixes reflect his ADHD nature and eclectic musical tastes and now that his formal education is complete he has finally had the time to once again share his love and passion for music with others. “Being a DJ/Producer is about much more than simply mixing tunes. It’s about mixing and controlling emotions and energy, controlling the flow for an entire room. There is no feeling in the world like watching a crowd of a few thousand people respond to the energy you put out through a simple pair of vinyl disks and a set of speakers”!!!
